How to Make Contacts Your Thing
- Posted on: Aug 15 2019
If you just started wearing contacts, you may be wondering how you will ever be able to wear them without feeling like you have something trapped in your eye. Although it may take a few days to get acclimated to them, getting adjusted shouldn’t’ be so painful. To help you feel more comfortable while wearing our contact lenses, let’s take a closer look at a few ways that you can make them a little bit more of your thing.
Choose the right lenses for you
One brand of shoes may fit your best friend perfectly but may give you blisters. Similarly, just because your best friend likes one brand of contacts, it doesn’t mean that you are going to. Be selective when you are choosing your contact lenses and find a pair that fits your eyes perfectly and comfortably.
To start, we may encourage you to try a brand like Dailies, which are disposable contacts that you only wear once, and then you throw them away. A lot of new contact lens wearers prefer these kinds of lenses because you don’t have to worry about cleaning them and you always know that they are clean.
Wash Your Hands
If you have dirt, oil, or anything else on your fingers it’s going to get into your eyes and irritate them. To prevent any irritation, make sure that you wash your hands both before you put your lenses in and while you take them out; that way you know that you aren’t exposing your eyes to anything unnecessary or harmful.
Wearing contacts takes a little bit of time to get used to, but once you do, it can be pure magic. If you want to learn more about contact lenses, eye exams, or how to take better care of your vision, reach out to us at our Chardon or Mentor offices and call (440) 205-5840.
