Screen Shot 2016 12 21 at 9.52.17 AM 290x300A cataract occurs when the eye’s natural crystalline lens becomes cloudy.

This is a natural event that occurs for many people in their 60s. It is believed that UV exposure plays a role, as well as certain vitamin deficiencies and medications.

When a patient has a cataract, they will often experience glare and haloes, difficulty reading, difficulty driving at night, and a yellowing of colors. Fortunately, cataract surgery has advanced immensely over the past several decades.
